Ready to order and I'm kind of stuck between 1 and 2 SS . one thing I really want is the audio , how hard do you think it would be to upgrade the 1SS audio?

Shouldn't be any harder than any other vehicle. It would probably be harder to upgrade from the Bose system. When I had a Dodge Ram, I got it with the upgraded infinity sound system and I needed to run a special harness for the upgraded nav and subs

Get the 2ss. It's worth the money.

Actually, a piece of cake. I have had the Bose in 3 out of 4 C6 Corvettes. It really is nothing to brag about.

I dropped in a pair of Focal 6 x 9s in the doors which gave it major sound improvement. Great highs, mids and bass. Took less than an hour to do.

Just added a kicker sub and amp in the trunk which was very easy, too. All the power and battery is there.

Pretty much this thing rocks now.

I was worried about this also. I had a 14 1LE with the boston acoustics upgrade and the 2016 1SS audio system sounds BETTER than my BA system did, for what thats worth....

All the best,

I can see why he is asking because I noticed on youtube people make comments about how the mustang was racing a Camaro 1ss and that if he had been racing a 2ss he would have gotten his rear spanked even more.......I was like what? same motor fool!

if you are already thinking about upgrading the audio to get it to the level of the 2ss sound you need to back out how much you will end up spending there on that.

I really like the blind spot stuff. Probably something you could aftermarket but it will be obvious.

20-40 lbs. No more. Not sure if "300" was a typo?

The 2SS was a no brainer for me after doing what Glen stated early in the thread. Looking at the Chevy configurator site & seeing what the differences that mattered to us were.

But maybe that is not right either, lol..Chart shows identical weights between 1SS and 2SS.. I would have thought the extra audio, leather, hud equipment ect... would have added up to atleast 20lbs...
Yea that chart is not curb weight like it says. Think it's max gross weight. Check out this thread for actual weights from multiple members.

It does. Give or take, but it's marginal...and well within the error of most scales...I don't know why they don't distinguish between trim levels, could be they just don't need to publish it.

6. Cool/heating ventilation seats
7. Bose Audio
8. Wireless charging pad
9. Heated steering wheel

I'm sure there's more but those are the main ones for me. I was cross shopping hard between the two and to be honest, the leather seats are only the really thing that I want from a 2SS.

For some it's worth the 5k diff. but for myself the 1SS is perfect. I added an SS badge to the cloth seats and really looks good. Keep in mind, the cloth seats on the 1SS are awesome seats as well. Just looks kind of plain without the SS emblem.
So I understand this is an older thread, but I have a 2017 1SS with all of the above. I do not have my vehicle info in front of me to see which package/trim level is there...but it is a 1SS
