This is likely the difference between a DoD car versus a non-DoD car. The DoD car gives up on the top end and the non-DoD car keeps pulling. |

Pretty big difference in Temps and huge delta between power and torque on the A8. Haven't really seen that on any A8 runs? Hard to say what the reason is.

Something's wrong with the SS above 4500 rpm.
Just a guess but it's starving for fuel. |

Interesting. I'm surprised they are that close actually. Would have thought the auto would lose a little more through the torque converter.
Very interesting.

It's all in the gearing/drivetrain. The 1LE does not make anymore power at the motor. A real comparison would be to run them at the track.

Doubtful since SAE corrects for that. Only way weather can significantly affect it would be if timing were pulled. But usually there is a pronounced dip when timing is pulled.

DoD is Displacement on Demand....I think they call it Active Fuel Management (AFM) now? Anyhow, don't all the 6th gen's have this. Not sure if the 1LE cars are without it???
I am guessing that's why the SS with auto has a graph that becomes more wavy at the top end? Not sure why else there would be a diff. Both cars have NPP exhaust also Only other thing I can think of is timing being pulled due to false knock or something??? |

But, the choppiness of the line looks like my '99 dyno when the fuel trims were off. Maybe some of the experts will chime in if that's normal for auto cars. But those temps could have been affecting A/F.

Maybe like you said, timing pull for some reason.

But even if my above thinking is all wrong, you have the simple fact that an A8 is not going to dyno higher than an M6 assuming the cars are stock. Your losses in HP match what is expected. Maybe the lines diverge at 4800rpm because the losses become more substantial at those RPMs for the converter. IDK, I am by no means an expert. Also I know there was a bit of controversy over whether M6 cars did have AFM hardware or not. Did anyone ever finally confirm that?

Which one is this? Looks like a Dynojet but don't see it on the printout.
