I see the analogy as an iPhone buyer being pissed because the new iPad is now the buzz. Different tools for different tasks that overlap somewhat in functionality.

This point certainly has validity. I just see the cars as not being different enough to excuse GM's timing of the announcement. I think most will agree that this car is much closer to being daily driver friendly than the 5th Gen Z28.

Some folks don't want a stick car regardless of what form it comes in. The same applies to the automatic. Chevy is interested in making money period and they have their bases covered plus. There is something here for everybody. I sure wouldn't be unhappy with the A10. Given it is designed to handle at a minimum of 650lbft it shows the potential strength engineered for it. I'd love to have that option in my old Chevelle vs the 3 spd auto. Staying constantly in the power band would be a kick.

What I have seen is the 1LE version is tilting the scales to those who have disliked the 6th gen styling in general, well except for the wing, that could be fixed by having a regular 1LE trunk lid for road use.
I think GM may have slightly damaged their own ZL1 sales and orders. Should be some good deals soon on the orders that are not picked up, or those who are going to wait for the 1LE version. Smart to wait it out for a bit and not jump on the hype train. |

I get the frustration. I waited until the end of the 5th gen to buy my car because I didn't want to miss out on any cool gear they might have up their sleeves. When the 6th gen ZL1 started hitting the streets part of me wished I had waited and gotten a 6 the gen ZL1. I would be frustrated right now if I bought a ZL1 and then this came out. I will buy my 6th gen once all the cards are on the table.

I still don't get the frustration.
The ZL1 1LE is not for 3 people: 1. People who want to drive it daily. 2. People who want to take it to a 1/4 track. (Defeats its purpose) 3. People who want to have it sit in a garage. You don't see people DD Viper ACR's or take an ACR to a 1/4 track.

As the previous post mentions. The 1LE is a single threat instead of a triple threat. It's going to be an amazing track car, end of story. The complainers on this car are out of line. Be happy they are even building this 1LE. |

However, it's not as daily-drivable as the standard ZL1, wouldn't you say? I mean you can...as you can with any car. But those tires, suspension, revised gearing, and aero will not make it the most pleasant daily-driven experience. In fact...if you take the 5th gen out of the picture for a moment...I believe that makes this car the least daily-driveable Camaro available today. ...Doesn't mean you can't... |

Who knows when the ZL1 1LE will actually ship. I'd hate to miss out on Camaro Fest waiting on my order. And GM makes the ordering process so brutal I'm not sure I want to subject myself to it again so soon. At this point Im choosing to upgrade to the 1LE parts I care about once they're available.
