exactly what I was looking for! Were you able to find a shop with 2.75" to replace the cars? I'm debating axleback vs catback

I purchased on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Unfortunately, looks like it's out of stock. I believe there's a 4 foot piece available, but it's a bit more cost wise.

Glad to hear you are happy with it. Sounds great man!
I want to get the axel back atak with the valves for my camaro. I wasn't planning on cutting out the secondary cats, do you think you would be happy with just the borla mufflers? I guess it's hard to say tho.
Anyone know the Dba ratings for the Atak compared to the 91 dba for the stock setup(source motortrend)

I think in the big Borla post there's a breakdown of the dba stock, ATAK, S-Type etc. With the secondary cats attached, I still think it would be plenty loud. It depends on how loud you want it I suppose. If you don't plan on headers, I think it's the way to go.

Found it:
Stock - 85.7 Decibels
Borla Touring - 94.2 Decibels
Borla S-Type - 97.0 Decibels
Borla ATAK - 102.3 Decibels

I have to disagree on the zero drone here. I have the 60609 X pipe with AFM valves and the 11924 S-Type rear part. Whenever I use my Forza controller to "pull the fuse" and leave the valves open I def get a bit of drone in the cabin. You can regulate it a little bit with the throttle but it is there. It's not that bad but if I am trying to talk on the phone hands free it makes it hard to hear them.

When I let the factory sport/track mode control the valves I get no drone at all. NPP is well worth the money IMO.

I know the S-Type is a different muffler, and deeper tone. I'm extremely sensitive to drone, made me sell my other exhausts in the past for this, and other cars. I have zero drone with the Atak axle back, no NPP valves and secondary cat delete. It is definitely loud and aggressive, but not droning. Perhaps it also has to do with the fact that I have an M6 and not an A8. If I was swimming in cash, I probably would have gotten the NPP valve version, just to have it. Honestly though, I rarely used it, and don't miss it at all now.

I can't speak for your setup. I can only comment on mine. I also have the secondary cat delete version of the X pipe from Borla. Not sure if that plays a role in my experience vs yours.

Who knows for sure, my bet would still be the A8 versus manual or perhaps the overall deepness of the S-Type muffler. The Borla X is still 2.75" like the stock, don't see how that could be it.

Hello guys, I had this installed on my 16ss and I have a major "blowing plastic bag" when I give it any throttle. The sound is coming from the front/mid part of the exhaust. Has anyone ever had any issues with this? any advice would be outstanding!
The actual exhaust tone is Fantastic however the 'extra' noise is really bad.

Have no idea what sound that is - you'd need to post a vid or something - and no never had anything remotely resembling that description

True it is 2.75" but it is also a true X pipe and not the crappy stamped style the factory uses although neither would be a cause for drone. Must be that I have no secondary cats. And it is very minor but perhaps the RPMs that the A8 are in a cruise make it more pronounced.

I don't have the secondary cats either, so perhaps it's the A8/M6 rpm range The crappy stamped style X is good enough for the ZL1 it's good enough for me. Don't really see any actual performance benefits to an aftermarket X.
