I had a pretty smooth cut all the way around. Any plastic/glue from cutting down the groove that melted and bubbled up was easily snapped off (snapped most when they were warm and pliable). Aside from sanding the edges to have a smooth, but rough texture for the sealant to adhere to, I did not clean out the grooves of the housing.

Yea, I learned that the hard way. Decided to throw the lens in the oven to make the adhesive a little easier to peel off... Yea... I melted that ****er. Unfortunately I can't buy just the lens, so another headlight has to be ordered this week

Or does anyone know if the housing/lenses are the same for all models?

Oof... sorry to hear that (and I can smell the melted plastic from here!). Can't say for sure, but I would assume that they are the same size for all the models, just different stuff inside them... so you may be able to save some $$ by getting a 1LT basic headlight vs an RS.

Lol it happens, I'll post some pictures on what NOT to do later.

That's what I was thinking, so was hoping I could get away with spending the $100 on the non RS headlight and be ok

On a side note... I got to show off the new lights today at a car show. Lots of positive comments as well as heard a bunch of "check out those color changing lights". Many asked if they came stock like that, others cringed when I said I had to cut the housings to get into them. But I didn't hear anyone say it looked stupid or "Ricer"... probably because it's on such a gorgeous 50th Anniversary!

One thing I will be doing is adding a switch to swap between constant power and parking lights. This will only be for shows. I can turn on the parking lights from the steering wheel controls, but it will timeout after 10 minutes and shut off. I had to watch the car for the side markers to go out and get up to turn the switch back one then back to parking lights to engage them for another 10 minutes.

As far as battery drain, I had them running pretty constant for about 2½ hours through it's play rotation cycle before I started up the car just to juice up the battery as a just-in-case. Probably when I switch the side marker lights from incandescent to LED (not the ORACLE ones but just an LED bulb), I'm sure I could run the parking lights all day and not have to worry.

I ordered the following ORACLE Lighting through NFC Performance:

1x 2016-2017 Chevy Camaro ORACLE ColorSHIFT DRL 3982-334 (part# includes 2.0 Remote)
1x ORACLE "Demon Eye" ColorSHIFT Projector Illumination Kit 8529-333
1x Backlit ColorSHIFT Fog Lights (V6) - 1293-333
1x ColorSHIFT 2.0 Remote

It was $310 for the DRL's (with ColorSHIFT 2.0 Controller) and Demon Eyes. I believe the V6 Fog lights were $59. This includes a 5% discount for black friday (but they are still offering a 5% discount with ILOVESAVINGMONEY or something like that). I sent an email asking about the drl's and fog lights since they are not yet listed on their site. They created an "Angelo special" link and emailed it to me. I added them to the cart and place the order. Sharlynn was a great help and quick responder to my emails and questions.

If you want a different controller, you can check out the pricing on their site and order it and the DRL's separately.

I'm not sure what professional companies charge for installing the lights. For self-installation, additional items will vary by cost depending on whether you have the tools or not - 7, 8, and 10mm sockets, T-10, T-15, and T-25 hex screwdrivers, Dremel or multi-tool, drill, jack, etc. You will need some 5-6 wire 18 gauge wire, wire taps, electrical tape, velcro (I used to mount the controller to the side carpeting), zip ties, sealant, and probably one or two things I'm forgetting at the moment. I may have spent $30-$40 on these things.

Oh yeah... probably 2-3 days install time...

Do any of you guys know if the controller has more than one channel? I want to be able to run different color lights on the drl and the projector backlighting. If so, is it controlled through the remote?

From what I know, there is only 1 channel on the controller. You will need multiple controllers for different light sequences/colors (demon eyes connected to one controller, drl's on another, fogs on another, etc). There may be another way, but I don't know it. I've seen diagrams that have multiple controllers hooked up in sequence, but can't seem to find at the moment.
