Do you know what heatsoak is?
After you make a run and or shut off the car it's residual heat that transferred from the head to the blower or could even be the valley plate radiating heat and the blower soaking it it up. That was the case with the LS3 eforce it was a single big hunk of metal.. now the unit is 3 piece 2 pieces that go between the blower and heads and the blower adm... the directions of the kit leaves the noise and heat barrier sheet under the stock manifold. The iats now are more under control aswell people were seeing 140 to 150s I am seeing 120s just cruising on the highway before I was getting high I assume it's becasue all the air wasnt bled out of the blower and or exchanger. It doesn't matter what blower you buy they all need a larger reservoir to combat the iats. The water to air intercooler is supposedly more efficient than an air to air but maybe don't flow aswell. A larger tank with the addition of ice will lower the ambient temperature below out side temps an air to air would not do that although you can use some type of nitrogen or alky spray to cool of the fins to lower the ambient temps. Most people use meth for centri or PD so iats who gives a crud now and if your lucky the e85 is in your area like us. The fact of the matter the new compression ratio is 11.5:1 the most you gonna be able to do is 6 to 8 psi and all the blowers off the shelf will do this. Unless you have big plans for tons of boost go with a PD blower. They drive more friendly and look a hell of a lot better.

I want a centri because I want a front mount intercooler and I want to self install, I would go the wastegate route if anyone did it as an off the shelf option but they dont, but ECS's C7 kit is a proven package, so I am waiting on their Camaro kit to see what they do this time round. PD's have drawbacks too, they are far from perfect. |

I have had all 3 vortec T trim, PD, TT, and another PD.
The PD is far better especially for daily driving. Will others make more power hell ya my TT is at 8 psi making 750 plus just on 93. I wasnt impressed with my vortec who makes ecs. They will all make power they are all good all have draw backs but using the car everyday the PD is a better system.

ECS are using the paxton unit in their Camaro kit so I'm quite interested in seeing what they do with this one. Last edited by AndyUK; 11-24-2016 at 10:54 AM. |
