Does anyone know the dimensions on the ZL1 wheels? I know the tire sizes are 285/30ZR20 (front) and 305/30ZR20 (rear, but what are the actual wheel dimensions (20"x?). And how about offset? Thanks

Pretty sure the fronts are 20 x10 and the rears 20 x 11, but I have no clue what the offset is.

To me color is not the issue

I am kind of in the boat with what Mr. Radio active is asking.

The Reason I love those black 1LE wheels and ZL1 Wheels from gen five is partly the color but mostly the stance.

I don't know the exact reason, but they seem to be offset more from the wheel hub to the outside rim. Combine that with the awesome wheel design (quality of wheel fit and finish aside) and maybe the fact that the tires are stretched over the wheels width wise, at least on my 1Le in the back, it makes the car look tough, more of a race set up.

I might have some facts a little wrong but the affect is definitely there.

Help with my thoughts would be appreciated.

Still an incredible car, in almost every way.

Jim

I get what you're saying Jim. I agree on the looks of the wheels. I like the new ZL1 wheels, but I really like the way the old and new 1LE wheels' spokes slant from the hub out toward the wheel lip, giving them that dished look. The ZL1 wheel probably has the exact same offset, but it's just more hidden, as the spokes are more vertical, then turn sharply toward the hub. That sets the center back in quite a bit.
I'd also like to see a second or third wheel option, like a polished wheel, or one with machined spoke faces and maybe lips (could still be the same dark gray other than the machined parts). I guess the down side of more wheel options would probably lead to a higher starting price for everyone as GM would spread out the added cost of design and R&D costs for the extra wheels.

Just bit on the MRR 017's. I'll do some measuring to see if there is any difference when I get them to compare with the ZL1

There's a gray "just delivered" thread somewhere around here. Saw it just a few days ago.

give the wheels a chance. I have had my car for about 24hrs and the #1 thing people say is "wow, I love those wheels". I had already found a set I was planning on replacing them with but having seen them no in person (especially with the ECFHE)....I may just hang on to them and use the money elsewhere. All I am saying is pictures do not do them justice in my opinion,

The wheels will be black in one drive to the store. The brake dust will help you out.

I have met the designer of the new ZL1 wheels and he spent a lot of time with the design and paint color / finish. I have seen the wheels in person a few times and they are a very elegant, beautiful wheel. But.... in my opinion the elegant design just does not go with the aggressive nature and looks of the rest of the car. Just my opinion. But having the polished 5 spoke ZL1 wheels on my car and knowing what a pain they are to keep clean, I cannot imagine the cleaning time on these multi spoke wheels. I'm pretty sure the designer did not clean a set of these rims before final approval.
