6th Gen Vibrating Parts, Wind Noises, Creaks, and Pops

Now that my car has settled in, I have heard new sounds since I left the dealer. Overall most I have been able to fix, but outside of that, I would love to know what sounds / new sounds you have been hearing or dealing with your car.

Sounds I have heard
- Dash Rattle (Behind Radio)
- Baby Seat Rear Mount Clip (Vibrates with Bose Sound System)
- Side Mirror Wind Noise
- Creaks coming from the rear suspension (pre-lowering it. They are gone now)

Note, I did take the time to take everything out of my car to make sure the noises I was hearing were the stock car parts over randomness put in my car by me.

Nice, but please keep at least one hand on the wheel, that's just so wrong.

-A lot more wind noise than I had in my 4th gen (w/ T-Tops), even after it had 232k miles on it.

-Brakes squeal a bit, but I've read in a couple places on this site that Brembos do that.

-Only happened twice since I've had the car, but the steering made a pretty good pop noise when turning the wheel at a stop.

-Radio will sometimes pick up engine frequencies.

These are all fairly minor for me. I drive a LOT, so I'll update if I hear anything new.

My dealer is going to adjust the window glass tomorrow to try and resolve the wind noise. Will update ASAP.

I had the exhaust replaced to fix the buzzing sound.

Also had the rear passenger side speaker replaced, it was vibrating even when the radio was off.

I figured he was a knee driver.

I have the wind noise, it's pretty loud, but not loud enough to make me want to rip into the door to figure it out.

Wow I wonder if the mirror is what is causing this whistling noise that always makes me turn my head to look but I never can figure out what it is.

I'd be interested to hear more about your rear deck vibration/noise. The one I am dealing with is horrible at idle, and resonates with the engine at idle RPM.

I appreciate the videos, and I had not considered the car seat anchors. Having never needed to use a car seat, it's on that list of invisible features that I see, but never notice. I have removed the plastic covers after watching the video, and I will see if I hear the vibration on my drive to work this afternoon.

Here's hoping.

- Dash Rattle (Behind Radio) - I found it is actually from the top vent. I can make it quite by taping it a few times.

- Side Mirror Wind Noise. - I will try to adjust it and see if that makes a difference.

- Engine ticking noise - ticks the most in V4 mode. Range AFM disabler make it a lot quieter.

- Exhaust rattle - this is fixed after 2 dealer visits. 1st was epoxy fix, 2nd was actuator replacement.

- Right turn ticking sound. This come and goes. Not worth visit the dealership atm. I don't want to hear "We can't reproduce the problem" BS.

I've had a few really loud random pops from my body like someone threw a rock at my car but on open roads with nobody around and on turns i'm wondering if it's the end links... Mirror whistling is pretty annoying I just turn the radio up.

I have rattle coming from either my passenger door or seat when going over bumps and another creak from the chrome plastic around the driver side vent by the door.

Some wind noise, npp rattle and recently I've noticed a squeak coming from the dash somewhere, not sure if it's behind the instrument pod or the radio area. It's intermittent and not really bothersome. Dashboard squeak reminds me of my old 4th gen '97 Z28

My biggest noise generator was the central display unit not fitting tightly into it's space. I cured this with a little 3M foam tape I put behind it and that took up the slack between the display and the dash. My passenger side outer ac vent was making a light but annoying buzzing type noise that was cured after I replaced the Goodyear F1 tires with my BFG Comp AS tires. Car is near bank-vault quiet on the inside now.

Yea! I just started to hear the noise on my driver side vent... It seems to be a bit loose.

Check the vent bezels, I have one on the left that squeaks, it's annoying but I don't want the dealer to touch it and make it worse, it quiets down if I jiggle it a bit.
