Another thing that might need to be added to the OP -- when the 6th gens came out, a lot of people were asking if their oil pressure gauge was broken because it moves around so frequently compared to the 5th gen. It was later explained that it's only because it has a much more sensitive pressure gauge that actually monitors moment-by-moment pressure, not an average.

Yeah it does. Surprised me at first. Is that normal? Is it supposed to feel like manual steering?

25 years later, and we get an actual oil pressure gauge...my '90 Miata has one.

Has anyone confirmed that there is a real oil pressure measurement being taken? Some of the gauges for oil pressure, voltage, and coolant temperature nowadays are fake and their movement controlled in programming. First learned about it on my 3G Dodge truck. Once the schematics became available it turned out the only device that was measuring oil pressure was a switch that triggered the low oil pressure light, what the gauge was showing was entirely fake. They can also read actual pressure but dither it to something less alarming to customers which is done to reduce calls.

I've had my 2016 for a month now and I've wondered about the coolant temp from day one. Not long after a cold start, the coolant temp jumps up half way immediately, then rises to what looks like about 180-190 and stays there. Obviously not overheating by any stretch, but I'm used to it being a much more gradual rise, and then stopping right at the top just shy of 210 with my other vehicles. I have a 2016 Yukon Denali and the temp gauge reacts as you'd expect; starts off cold, slowly rises as the engine warms up, and then settles at 210. My previous Silverado w/ the 6.2 was the same, as is my 2008 Tahoe with the 5.3. Is this what other 2016 owners are seeing? I know for a fact that a cold engine with cold coolant isn't heating up to over 160 degrees within two minutes of idling.

I noticed the super fast "heat up" also. 180 should be normal on these cars though.

Most "Gauges" these days aren't real gauges. They're just smoothed analog indicators that really don't provide much real info other than "Good or Bad"..

On my old GTi, the temp gauge "read" 190 degrees anywhere from 150 to 220.
Plug a Scan Gauge or equivalent in to see what's really going on..

It may be different from the '14, but when cruising on the highway, 180 was the max. Stopped, it hit 210 and then the fans came on.

I have had my car 2 weeks and want to make it a Transformer Auto Bot found on Amazon the original emblems. This car runs awesome.

I have had no problems in the running of the car so far at 500 miles.

Question: I have a android phone so took my car to the dealer for android auto play to be installed like the GM My link website said to. The Dealer took 3 hrs and said it was done, just plug in your phone, and download the android auto play app so I did. So got in my car and started home for it was about closing at the dealer on a Friday. The app worked OK, but my on board navigation GPS had a red X on it, so no on board GPS now. I called MY link and the tech said the dealers download must have messed up my on board navigation. So I took it back for a reload, the dealer 2 hrs and said I would have to drive it 25 miles for the GPS to work. I found out all he did was call on star and reboot everything. I don't believe he reloaded the software. I have driven it 60 miles, and it still does not work.

Does anyone know how to fix this other than go back to the dealer?
I would appreciate the help for I paid extra for the on board NAV.

I got my car today. AA wasn't installed and the GPS had the same red "X" on it. Emailed the dealer, giving them hell and demanded appointment on Monday. Wonder what the deal is with the Nav and that red "X"?
