Can't go wrong with either car. Camaro is quicker but the stang is a few g's cheaper. Both are great cars to leave stock or mod. Good luck and keep us posted.

You should get what you like most, which seems to be the Mustang, unless a Camaro test drive change your mind.
You talked about CAI exhaust and tune, which indicates your a performance type guy. I would chose the Camaro for this reason alone.

My '06 has a built, blown stroker motor which I built myself. It has a host of suspension mods, built rear end, twin disc and the '11 has CAI, exhaust, tune and that's pretty much it other than drag radials. Probably going to sell the '11 because I'll probably never drive it with a new addition.

I think they are both great cars. I came close to getting a GT PP when they were doing 0% for 72 months with rebates a few months back.
I can say this, although it drove nicely on my test drive, the MT86 trans has a lot of documented issues, and this is true for the 15+ models as well. It really should always come down to what you like more, but if you want a winner the camaro is the one to buy. Of course, you'll have to wait to get your hands on one but it really shouldn't be much longer anyways. I'm on the fence between a camaro and a scatpack challenger personally. To me it's all about what you like the most so when I drive the '16 SS I'll have driven all 3 and can confidently choose. The Mustang is an awesome car, having trouble picking is a great problem to have |

Looks are subjective, I get that. If we assume for a second that you don't care either way for looks, the current GT is probably superior to the current SS - simply because the new 6th Gen Mustang is fully updated and the current SS is dated. The interior and ride quality of the GT are probably superior, and the performance is negligible between them both. The Mustang is just more updated right this second. I would suggest holding out 6 months and waiting for the 6th Gen, which handily trounces the Mustang in terms of performance, and you'll see major interior upgrades. The biggest downside of the Mustang is that POS Getrag transmission. The TR6060 is so much better. Some people complain about the TR6060's feel...it certainly has its own personality and can be a notchbox in the winter until it's warmed up...but it is so much stronger. I don't like the term "bulletproof," but it is much, much stronger than the Getrag. Swapping to Redline D4 fluid has helped its smoothness in the cold a lot.

x2. I don't particularly like the long over hang of the Mustang's front end. Seems excessive. BMW has always nailed this dimension. The Gen6 front over hang looks good (short). |

I'm itching to drive an SS to compare. I think the one thing Chevy needs to do is offer the SS with a spoiler delete. Forcing a spoiler on people is just ridiculous. |

From your experience of test driving the mustang, I can tell that you care about feelings rather than raw numbers in term of performance. And with the fact that you prefer non-pp GT, I would say that the MRC in SS would definitely be a better bet for you as it is not gonna give u a harsh ride but at the same time its not gonna hurt performance.
Manual gearbox of the GT has been the main complaint of its owners. So get an SS |

This. Pick which suits you more. Although as close as these two are, a few aftemarket parts would quckly delete any deficit either has compared to the other.
