Have you done any video games programming in the past?
It's basically that but more rules.
Start with Tic Tac Toe game, it's easy to learn AI.
Once you're comfortable, you can move on to Chess AI.
When you mastered that, try video games (MMORPG, RTS) AI.
Eventually you can move to conversational AI.
boundary AI (Like a Roomba)
When you've aced it, try putting all of that together to simulate AI of a human brain.

No, nothing too complex.

It's all just C++ right? If not, what languages are they using?

It depends on your application. Whether you're developing for OS, Web, or hardware.

I am a complete computer dumb ass, I can turn it on and use the programs I need. Sad as I am a molecular biology scientist, but I just never got computers.

Still, I respect that people are and I rely on them. If anyone here has good knowledge on either beefing up a wifi network for a house that somehow adsorbs all signal or thoughts on getting a second hardline for my house, I am all ears.....

What issues are you having? Connecting on certain sides of the house? If so, you need a Range extender.

It's a long story but lets say the hardline goes to a Mac computer on the far east side of the house on the second floor of a 3000 sq ft home. My den is on the 1st floor far west side. The signal sucks even though I have a goof wifi router. Our house has brick on the front outside and even my verizon phone has issues getting signal.

A repeater or extender? I can't setup some weird address thingy so maybe I could pay someone to do it.

+1 on the extender in your case. You can even have BestBuy do it for you most likely if you can't.

I have a solution for you.
I've been using this for over 4 years now.
It's call power-line network kit.
It allows you to use your electrical outlet as a 10/100/1000 network communication without drilling or running wires all over your home.

The one that i'm using is from CISCO.
It offers signal from on gigabits network.
This is important because you won't be able to go faster than 25MBPS on conventional 10/100.
You'll also need to use Cat-6 cables or Cat-5e.
Basically which ever room you need a connection, you can plug one of these in and you're set
There are currently no wireless module for the gigabit network.

Definitely another good option and much easier to implement. I've tried powerline networking and it worked very well.

I think I've developed Stockholm syndrome to the powerline networking method.

It makes life that much easier and it doesn't damage the property like conventional drilling and running cables around the house.

Several hours of work reduced to mere minutes.
