Okay, so all he wants is a way to get her number...then in this case, DCamaro, I think you should chat her up a bit before asking for her number. She needs a reason to want to talk to you at other times besides just school. Then you can ask, "Do you want me to call you?" or GTHAVIT's "Would you mind if I call you?" This will frame her response to make it so that she essentially says, "Yes I want you to call me."

Thats what I was thinking... It seems so stupid and idiotic of me to make this a 4 page thread, but like I said, ive never faced this before. I just need a quick chat to give her, which would eventually lead her into giving me her number, or at least I would need a reason to ask for it, and that chat is what I need help with. Heres what I was thinking:

(I walk over to her)
Me: hey
Her: hi
me: how are you?
her: good, you?
me: good.. i noticed we keep staring at each other, and if youre going to keep looking at me like that, i figured you should at least talk to me ( in a non confrontational way)
... not sure what she would say from there lol
mind you, id be smiling throughout this whole conversation

P.S I do not go to school with her, shes in the next town over, our swimming team is my town and her town combined.

don't plan out a conversation. conversation is nothing, it's small detail and it should be natural / whatever you feel like saying at the time. if you try to pre-memorize a conversation and she throws you a curve ball you're going to get flustered. you don't know what she's going to say.

it's just communication from one person to another. this is someone you deal with on a very limited basis. if she shoots you down, what's the worst that could happen? it won't impact your life in the slightest. man up, introduce yourself and just let it flow.
