You know nothing about me. You do not know who I have or have not done business with in the past... I laughed about them, get over it. What, it's against the law to laugh all of a sudden? I don't know why my opinion about something or a business entity is making you as upset as you are getting about it. The fact you are keeping score over how many times I've said or done something. My man, get a hobby, seriously.

I'm very familiar with all the Hennessey Camaro builds and rode in the 1st supercharged 5th Gen with John on his track. Also had them work on my car before.

Love the guys out there in Sealy but no way would I purchase one for quite a few reasons. Low end parts with huge markups and a nameplate with number. Hit or miss whether they have issues or not but buying a used one would not be a draw for me, especially on the road course.

And these HP numbers are crank and not wheel. So much more can be done for the same $$.

There we go. A voice of reason WITH experience. Too many horror stories around Hennessey for most people. Go with a reputable LS/LT shop and spend half the money for a better build.

Buying a used modded high HP car for the track no matter what brand is asking for trouble especially for the road track. Nothing could be harder on a car and cooling becomes an issue. If it's a ZL1 1LE there is a lot of cooling already so you might be able to get away with it with the right mods. But with the HPE 850 you're talking about a 200 hp increase so a little more than headers and tune. They add a lower pulley to spin the supercharger faster and pullies are definitely a heat issue since the LT4 has such a small SC.

HPE has put a lot of the bad stuff in the past, that will never escape them, but they survived it and putting out stuff like the Venom GT to folks with big pockets in Saudi Arabia etc. is pretty cool, but the fact remains for what you pay you could cut it in half or more and still get way more bang for your buck. Ask questions like what brand headers? You find ARH price for low end big flow (local made and out of business now) with the HPE tag on them. You'll rarely hear or know the brands and you will never see an actual track time posted

But then Camaro is Camaro so evaluate the car for what it is and not the name attached.

Video for attention

On a side note. Hennessey. Lol.
Sorry. I meant the heat exchanger module (e.g. blower HE, AC condenser, radiator).

Agree with this.

Hennessey builds a fine high-performance car. I know, I owned one.

And you definitely paid a premium... so glad it was good.

This debate has rolled on for years and will continue especially after their Viper years.

I would like to hear from anyone who has tracked their Hennessey 850 hp as to its peformance and its relability.

These cars don’t need more HP to run fast lap times. Tires, brakes, and more aero provide greater performance gains after the driver has sufficient seat time.

So True...

I've modded all my Camaros for HP until I got to the 1LE and road track.

I quickly discovered driving skills were way more important and needed before more HP. The ZLE is built to keep a professional driver happy.

Again, Hennessy builds an excellent high-performance car, one you can depend on. On the other hand, you can go to Mom and Pop save a few bucks and take your chances.

JSH, I’d say you should know better than just about anyone here as you own one. Your positive view is good to hear. My perspective comes from the Viper world. The mags vaulted Hennessy as a god. The reality back in day, was that he screwed so many owners that he was banned from the Viper Club of America for 15 or so years I was around. Clearly he’s a smart guy that’s a master of marketing. Your experience is a refreshing view.
