Following, as I love the sound of the AWE, but it would be much easier if they just offered an NPP version....

P.S. I still need the name of your smog guy lollllllllllll

Thank you... still surprised no one has done this?

Would love to hear from someone who has tried this...

Like I said in the original post, I still have the factory cat back with NPP valves, and i'd like to stitch them back in either after the cats (super loud, and I dont think there is enough room) or after the center X (should be perfect)... that would only bypass the AWE mufflers.

I like this plan, because they can be controlled by the driving modes just like before.

What would you do?

Hope the valves can be cut out and relocated?

If you put them there you’ll restrict power…to exactly 0 HP…

You can’t shut off the exhaust entirely or the engine won’t run.

Yes, you would have to put in the Y and add the cut outs on the end of the out crop of the Y

I assume he means to use them in that way, to make a cutout-style dump. I mean, this dude pulled his engine and built it. I think he knows he needs a dual path here.

Jesus guys... really?

Thanks for letting me know I would need a "Y", i almost missed that detail
You guys are the best

Anyway, yes... there would be a proper Y set up there... just wanted your thoughts on relocating them... not sure how much more volume ill get from bypassing the AWE as are pretty thin to start...

You can always run something like what I have. It is virtually identical to what you are looking to do. I don't know how realistic it would be to be able to obtain the NPP valves outside of a catback exhaust, however. The branch out Y ends at NPP valves for my setup and sounds killer in all modes. Mellow in tour, and aggressive in sport and track after some CCM tuning.

I don’t think you’re going to gain much volume. I have those same AWE mufflers and they’re pretty damn loud lol.

In a previous post on this thread I said I would keep the original NPP. Well that didn't last and I eventually went with the AWE Touring. YES, it's loud especially with my mods but, it sure sounds good. After some consideration I decided I liked the sound outside but not inside so I decided to do something about that.

I decided to do some sound proofing to cut down the sound inside. I applied Killmat and Norico sound proofing in the truck and rear seating area. Doing this cut down the sound considerably. While I have no meter to before and after results the difference could be heard. This allowed me to keep that great cammed sound outside while not blasting me inside. I only used the Norico in the truck cavity and not the whole area with the Killmat. No, it probably did not give me the effect that the NPP would have but, it gave me a happy medium. See the pics.

I would just get a NPP axleback and sell your AWE.
