A10 and M6
Bought a 2020 LT1 with an M6 , added Nitto Drag Radials . Traded it for a 2023 1SS with the A10 which arrived March 1st. I am a drag racer and the A10 seems to be quicker by 2 tenths and as good with a stick as you are you cannot outshift the automatic. With all the nannies off and good traction the M6 car bogs a bit off the line due to torque management trying to save the trans and rear end.I used a Jegs Shift light set at 6400 rpm and when that red light flashes there is nothing more fun than that powershift under WOT. A10 is quicker but M6 is more fun.

I have the 2SS A10 myself, and that was the first thing I did. 305/30R20's on the back and 275/285/30R20's front. (will need wheel upgrades as well) The only real difference between the 1LE and my car is MRC, and if you like the $2000 Brake upgrade and $3000 hood sticker. M6's are for fun, A10's are FTW. But I also went to drag strip with my car so there's that as well. P.S. no I didn't blow up my engine at the track, I blew it up on the way home from work....

Hey FlukeSS- I lost track of your thread on your car... did you ever find out what really happened? I know there was some speculation on the cause?

Actually I really wanted the manual, I was saying Manual or no car, but you know the A10 is not bad and I rushed the decision. I had only manuals until after I turned 30yo. I don't mind autos in any of my DD cars. I though it was going to be fine with the A10 in the camaro but I guess not. |

I don't think its a spun bearing. No metal shavings in the oil filter at all, no visible cylinder damage, Car had oil, I would have to pull the oil pan to check for metal fragments but I suspect I won't find any. Leaning towards a bent rod, but not sure if I should see physical damage in the cylinder or not, and there was no oil leak at all after it happened so don't think I threw a rod through the block either. Long story short though regardless of what the issue is I need a new engine. In super conservative mode saving money at the moment, but it will be a long time before I can do anything. Right now trying to find out best way to store the car for a year without it rusting away to nothing.

![]() On a side note, the clutch in this Vette doesn't feel as solid as the one in my 2019 SS. Same for the shifter, too much plastic

Pretty sure the 1LE doesn't have any additional cooling systems over the SS, it's the suspension/wheels/tires, eLSD that are the difference. FE4 is more than just the shocks, there's the sways, etc. The eLSD modes were super helpful last weekend at autoX on the first few laps to get it down without pushing too hard early on (before heat was there for enough grip). I do wish we could access linear throttle outside of track though.

manual = I drive my car
auto = My car drives me If you're going to have an auto, why not go all out and get a self driving car? I'll be there to set a traffic cone on the hood ![]() https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a4...c-cones-hoods/

M6 all day. Driver experience is at the top of my priority list, and the M6 in these cars is truly excellent. Best feeling trans I've ever owned, even without the rev matching as an added bonus. Why not step up to a ZL1 as well
