Is it both LT1 and 4 that have OE catchcan but on just one-side?

I will add that I wanted more whine, so I pulled the blower lid-off probably around 500-miles. It already had a residue of oil on all surfaces, and had also little puddles in the blower housing ribs that are above the rotor case. Because of my long-term plans, I decided then I was putting a catchcan on. I understand the warranty, but I'll have my car way beyond when the warranty expires. Having a little more boost just exacerbates what I see as a problem, and the catchcan actually collects a fair amount of oil. I get about a teaspoon-tablespoon every oil change. It's been changed, after the initial 500/1000 intervals about 2-times now. I can barely feel or pick-up any oil with my finger now, rubbing it behind the TB, in the snout. I'd almost need a paper towel to collect anything.

JMHO.
Because mine's a keeper, I also installed a catch can. It catches about 3-4 ounces of nasty watery goo every oil change.

I daily mine but I work from home most of the time so I only drive about 4000-5000 miles per year running errands and pleasure drives when the traffic eases up. I also live in Florida so I can drive it year round. I see no reason this car will not last 150,000+ miles as long as you maintain it properly.

Many folks on here are true enthusiasts and enjoy maintaining their vehicles. That said, most go overboard with the maintenance but as long as you follow the factory recommended list and schedule you should be good to go.

I think the issue you will have with that kind of mileage is the operating cost of fuel and tires. If you switch form the F1 Supercar tires to something with more tread life that would help. I think you only get like 10-12k miles out of these Goodyears depending on how you drive. I can literally see the fuel gauge needle move as I drive.

This car can handle the mileage and use.

I just think it sucks as a daily. The doors are very long, and require a wide berth so you can open them up enough to get in and out without twisting yourself into a pretzel.

But if that's your thing, give it a go. It's a fantastic car.

The best answer is to daily drive that Chevy Bolt listed in your profile and then take the ZL1 on nice days and weekends.

I daily my ZL1, sort of. I work from home 2-3 days/week and work in the office 2-3 days / week. I also take it for errands (I don't do that many), and take it to the gym. I don't have to drive it in the rain, freezing weather, or snow, since my wife has an AWD SUV and I can just work from home on those types of days. It isn't the best daily as mentioned above, because the doors are long and it sits pretty low with a wide sill, so it isn't the easiest to get in and out if the door isn't swung wide open. But, worth it.

Don't listen to that guy that changes his oil every 2,500 miles. That's overkill.

I changed oil first time at 1k miles, and when I can finally take it in I'll have the eLSD fluid changed soon (currently 3,400 miles). I wish I did the eLSD at about 2,000, but it's not required for normal driving per the service manual. It requires a specific diff oil for the eLSD, so be sure and use the OEM stuff. Some oil change shops don't carry it so you'll have to bring it in and pay them to change it, or take it to the dealer.

You're in for a treat with a new ZL1. It is a beast!

Yeah as much as I like driving evs that's not the risk I want to take when vw is having the same issues and so does hyundai because they are all using lg batteries, I will give evs a few more years before I buy another one.

Drive it as much as you want. My 2018 A10 was totaled in a crash last month, after 3.5 years of daily driving. It had 138k miles at the time, and the only real problem I had was a collapsed DOD lifter, which had failed at like 134k.

I am going to buy another one. Soon.

There's a woman named Kris in Houston that has over 180k on her 2017 M6 car.

If you want to drive them every day, they're built to last.

Also does anyone have any tips of what jack stands to use? I'm going to be getting zl1 addons lift pads, also how do you lift the car? Since you only have 4 lift pads, do you need to buy an additional one for the pinch weld where the jack will go?

How is the reliability and the warranty? Is the chevy extended warranty or platinum protection plan worth it? I feel like with magneride it might pay for itself if anything is ever wrong with that

ESCO flat top jack stands to place on the jack pads and yes you need to buy the additional magpuck for the last pinch weld location to use with the jack.

Also what are some must do mods? I plan on keeping this car for a long time, probably not going to track it but might do some at some point and might take it to a drag strip, will be doing spirited driving sometimes.

Are there any preventative maintenance items I should look at getting done?
PPF all the way around.
