Last weekend as I was pulling into a grocery store early Saturday morning a car caught my eye behind me. He pulled in beside me, and knew what he was doing giving 3 spots space in between. He was driving a brand spanking new Mach 1 (evidently the first in the Niagara region of Canada). Both of us being car guys, we spoke for almost a half hour covering each car, and he let me get up close and personal with his (no driving though).
I liked the looks of it, but I’m a bit of a sucker for the throwback stuff. To Mr Frans point, the cloth seats made my sphincter pucker, I wasn’t expecting that one at all, at least not at this level of vehicle. Will say this, it sounded great, and looked good, just not as good as the gt350’s IMO. I like the rims, and the front end facade, the rest was standard Mustang stuff to me. He was happy, and had waited all winter for the car. When looking at and commenting on mine, he said he knew it was a special car, but he was born a Mustang guy and would die one. I had to respect that, even if I find him a bit confused

imho the gen6 camaro is nigh on perfect. i can't fathom one single thing i dont like except one small thing. when you turn off the cruize control there's no reinstate the cruize..so basically you have to switch it back on when you tap the end cruize button. only niggle i can find from an almost perfect car. DAMN I LOVE THIS CAR ![]()

I had a 2006 GT and a 2012 GT that were both great cars. Still, the build quality is nothing compared to the Camaro. Everything on the Camaro is better than those two cars. |

not just better.. light years ahead.
how can a modern car have driveline clunk and thud ffs. i thought that crap was left back in the 70's. how can a modern car have so much hood flutter it looks as though it's gonna fly off above 90 mph lol. dont ford test this junk before selling them? and yes i had a brand new 2016 gt. may look ok but not nice in any way..i jumped from my 2013 camaro into this. i knew i had made a huge mistake after about 25 seconds.

HAHAHAHA driver and passenger bouncing all over the place. the suspension and chassis on the s550 is terrible. every single video will show you this. then watch a camaro video and the driver is always rock solid. utter junk cars and best avoided

(BTW the reason there's no cruise control cancel button is that the heated steering wheel switch left not enough space, and GM probably didn't want to design yet another button bank for the wheel. The 1SS and lower trims all have a cruise control cancel button.)

It won't be a popular opinion here, but I really liked the 2017 Mustang GT I had. I got rid of it mainly because my driving pattern changed, and I started spending 90+ minutes a day just idling in traffic, not because there was anything really wrong with it.
That said, there were some issues that I felt the factory should have addressed: 1. Camaro Fanboy has been kvetching endlessly about this, but the stock engine and trans mounts are WAY too soft. It lets the engine flop around, which produces a clunking noise if you don't manage the clutch and throttle perfectly at parking lot speeds. Also, I suspect this has a lot to do with why all the journalists hate the Getrag gearbox it comes with. I think they probably fixed this when they came up with mounts for the Tremec transmission the Shelby and Mach 1 come with, and that's part of why everyone likes that transmission so much better. In other words, I don't think it's necessarily the transmission itself that's the problem. Also, frankly, most of the rubber bushings on the car are too soft; it's not just the engine mounts. My equivalent Camaro has the low speed clunking thing too, but you have to be a lot more hamfisted to make it happen. Edit: Maybe the LT1 is a more equivalent Camaro to the base Mustang, but there isn't a Mustang equivalent to the 1SS. You either get the rental car interior, or the fancy pleather one. There's no "good screen + cloth seats" option. 2. The radio/screen doohickey is pretty antiquated in comparison to what you get in a Camaro or Challenger. 3. It needs better wheels and tires. The 18" rims are fine, but it really needs them to be a size wider, with higher performance tires. I had a hard time making left turns into traffic if I had to do it quickly, because it could so easily overpower the available grip at the rear. In terms of being a vehicle you use every day, I actually think the S550 is better than the Camaro. The trunk is bigger and easier to use, there are more, and larger storage cubbies, it can run on regular gas, and I thought my '17 was better looking. |

And like I said before Ford is pushing the base model GT was is a lot cheaper. Chevy should have pushed the LT1 more. |
