Mustang dynos are always the lowest or one of the lowest reading, so that is probably the reason. What is the octane of fuel there? Maybe mix in 4 gallons of 100 unleaded and test again--this will eliminate fuel as an issue. Were boost and AFR normal?
Also, you said it was getting some knock and tuner said maybe because it's tuned rich--knock is the OPPOSITE thing you get when rich, knock results from lean AFR (vs. rich AFR), high boost, and/or too much timing. That's why GM tunes the cars rich, to avoid knock in these monster SC motors when customers get bad fuel or even choose 87 at the pump I would question the tuner's knowledge if they actually said that, it's a basic tuning 101 thing Last edited by SFV1LE; 12-12-2019 at 05:43 PM. |

I think the fuel is the issue, ive never seen a dyno under 500whp before I was even dynoed stock on a mustang over 560. Sure there are variances but the car sounds lazy for some reason, like its taking its time to rev. As long as you are happy though thats all that matters, they are amazing cars!

Dynos can also be manipulated.

Also, maybe I didn't translate correctly the part that he talk about the car running rich. He didn't say that it was knocking because it running rich. I asked what he saw and he mention that it was rich and it was knocking a little. But he is not the tuner, he is the mechanic and he was just taking the logs because the tuner had to go out of the shop due to an emergency. Also like I mentioned before, there's another ZL1-1LE that was tuned in this dyno and the stock numbers were the same. |

That is the lowest I have seen. Hoping it is the dyno and not the car.
