After midnight wa375a is the base coat, its a black metallic, then you need the secret recipe for the next coat and then clear. nobody know what the 2nd stage is.

It’s actually just black as a base. I had my wheel repaired and watched them and asked them many questions. If you look at the back of your wheel it’s black because they base it black and only the front gets the after midnight. You can see the over spay on the factory wheel.

I have a pint of wa375a, its black with a tiny amount of metal flake. Its the 2nd stage that gives you the real grayish color but we don't know the code. ask Mlee.

Best bet is a wheel repair company . They will get it right. I’d suggest to ask someone in your area if they have experienced anyone fixing a wheel for them. I has Dallas wheel repair do mine and it’s perfect! 100% I had them repair two wheels . One was a touch up and one was total repaint.

I’m not going to argue with anyone I watched them fix the repaint and i know what I saw and it matched 100%

Someone started a thread recently asking for a recommendation in their area I would do that. He had a few suggestions from people with experience with their own wheels getting fixed. After it’s all said and done the money you’ll have in it to do it yourself will exceed what it costs to repair. Unless you plan to do it a lot I don’t see the value in a do it yourself solution.

I boogered mine up on a curb & took it to a mobile paint repair shop that specializes in this very thing...they hang around the corner of the Mercedes dealership & do 90% of their business with the dealers in the area.

Nobody can tell where it was & was cheap...like $40. I would find one of these & then get your protection. No reason to paint the entire wheel.

I had the curb rash on my wheel repaired by Alloy Wheel Repair Specialist and they nailed the paint match. He confirmed what others here have said here, it is a black base with a transluscent silver/gray topcoat. They are a national chain, call them, they might be able to help.
