Want to Buy a ZL1/1LE Wing? Look No Further! [Vendor Info Here]
Hey everyone, I've been in the market for a ZL1/1LE Wing for 6 months now,
and have done my fair share of research regarding the topic of buying this product from the aftermarket. I'll summarize that research here, with the hopes that it can help some of you find the right product! This is all of the major manufacturers who are currently producing ZL1/1LE Wings, their prices, a direct link, and some notes: $800, C7 Carbon: http://www.c7carbon.com/2016up-camar...on-fiber-p-671 - Their wing is identical to OEM specifications except for the stancions, which are their own design. The stancions are similar to OEM, but the interior angles are less exaggerated. This is fine for my applications since I plan to replace the stancions with shorter ones anyways. They offer a non-carbon version for $100 less. I went with C7 Carbon, due to their strong reputation, reasonable price, and responsiveness to my calls and emails with questions. $850, Carbon Dynamics: https://www.carbondynamics.net/produ...o-zl1-1le-wing - Their wing is a manufactured all-in-one piece, where the winglets and stancions are are fabricated as one piece and permanently attached to the airfoil. This is less than ideal for my applications, since I'd like to lower the wing with new stancions. $500, JW Motoring: http://www.jwmotorsportsllc.com/Cama...ing_p_356.html - They do not yet have a carbon fiber version of the wing, otherwise the wing fits OEM specifications. You must attach the winglets yourself after shipment. $3,600, ThatGMPartsGuy: https://www.thatgmpartsguy.com/exter...36?parent=1173 - This is the OEM wing so it can be used as the benchmark for design, build quality, and price. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Anything below this point is not recommended due to price, quality, customer service, or some combination of those factors. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ $4,500, ACS Composites: https://acscomposite.com/products/zl1-1le-ss-rear-wing - Their price is likely due to the fact that they were the first manufacturer to offer the wing. It's now more expensive than OEM, so I can't see this as a viable option unless the build quality is out of this world, which I haven't looked into. $2,000, 6LE Designs: http://6ledesigns.com/product/2016-c...-carbon-fiber/ - They offer a non-carbon version for $400 less. Here's feedback posts addressing 6LE's lack of communication and timeliness: - A user has posted their delivered wing on Camaro6 forums, and the product is not as described, with a build quality that is not up to par. post #121: http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showth...=511365&page=9 - User eventually receives his order, and 6LE chimes in along the way: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=518285 - User posts a concern for his long wait-time, which is echoed by others: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=520351 - Same as above, a user brings up his long wait times, and the community reflects his sentiments. 6LE gives a lengthy response on page 2, post #26: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=516389 - Again, a user brings up concerns over extended delays to his order: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=522857 --------------------------------------------- Let me know if I missed anyone worth mentioning, and I'll look into them!

A dealership has no incentive to be the cheapest vendor of parts, knowing that people will come to them regardless.

Let me know if the 12 week delivery time is that or if it comes back shorter. I don’t want to wait 3 months for a wing from C7!

Please guys post up pics when you get them. I have been debating on what wing if any to do. The JWM looks the most OEMish from actual installed pics I've seen. I don't like that all of Carbon Dynamics pics look to be of actual ZL1 1LEs and not their actual wing installed. The only wing that look like their's is the one sitting on the table which doesn't give any idea of proportions etc once installed. I've only seen one pic of the C7 wing installed on a customer car and couldn't get a good feel, other than the carbon fiber looked really nice in the pictures. The OEM wing is beautiful in person in flow and quality and I'm sure can stand the abuse/climate.

Just to add. I did talk to Carbon Dynamics and request a pic installed and they were quick to respond and provided one. The very same day I saw the guy on IG that installed the wing and asked him how it was. Cool guy maybe he is in here. Said the carbon looked really nice but was not thrilled with the uprights and had to do some redrilling to get it to fit, but it was their prototype. I basically asked Carbon Dynamics about this, as I wouldn’t expect a prototype to be perfect and if they were addressing this on the final version. That was about two weeks ago, no response yet.

You should remove 6LE from the list of vendors out of respect for all the folks that have been wronged by them. Most certainly not a forum worthy vendor.
Just my 2cents...

It's better to have them represented than ignored so that people don't accidentally fall into their trap thinking that they've found a hidden goldmine. I linked to just one of their feedback threads, but I'll link more of them.

I recently recieved my C7 Carbon CF Short Upright version of their spoiler. Quality is great however I had a couple issues with the spoiler. C7 expeditiously agreed send me a replacement unit and it will be here ASAP. Otherwise I am very happy with C7's Wing. Here are a couple pics:
