Facelift will go back to the big upper grille and two round rear lights per side, so I guess it will look more retro.
Well, considering the 6th Gen is essentially the 5th Gen with about 400lbs of weight gone and some more defined/hard lines on the car.... I would expect it to look similar to the 1st Gen

Hmmm, round tail lights on the rear? That would be cool and a la 1970. Based on the spy photos though, I'm not too sure they're going to be round though. Any new spy shots?

Makes sense though. That is one thing for sure that defines the mustang. The triple vertical tail lights. You can spot a mustang a mile away just by the tail lights and roots back to the original. I wouldn't doubt Chevy doing the same thing except that even the early Camaros had a bunch of different tail light styles from rectangle to round etc...

I happen to love the 6th gen. and it still looks similar to the 5th gen which is one complaint ive read about because people don't realize how much better the chassis, interior, and performance are. It just looks like a lightly refreshed 5th gen and not a completely new car.

they wont be separate round. they went did the 14 tail lights to conform with european regulations. the euro cars had different tail lights 10 -13. GM dosnt want to make different rear ends for europe.

Those two cars look absolutely nothing alike.

You can of course have seperate taillights in europe. Take a look at the Mustang, it has 3 taillights per side on the rear.

Take a look at this spyshot. You can easily see the 2 rounded rear lights. The shape is pretty similiar to the 5th Gen rear lights, but more moved together that the upper part overlaps.

I wouldn't take it for granted that the tail lights are the originals. Many car manufacurer using fake light hoods or even fender. We will know when it comes out.

When the 2006 Camaro concept came out, the designers made no apologies for the "retro", and even billed it as a modern interpretation of the original lines, and character of the car, but NOT a retro design...and I liked that.

As far as I'm concerned, leave well enough alone, and if you like retro that much - go buy an old '69...or better: build one!
I hope the 7th gen moves on from the retro looks and bails on the Transformers. They need to come out with something very modern and aggressive, not to imply the 5th and 6th gens aren't aggressive.

Some bigger windows would be nice too.

New York Auto Show seems most likely. Right before Good Friday. Chicago is also a possibility. February 8-9th media days.
