Roto-fab CAI: A few attributes of outstanding performance!!

This was posted in another thread, but I felt it may be more appropriate to create a new thread explaining the benefits of a Roto-fab cold air intake.

The Roto-fab system has proven to be the best performing CAI in multiple independent tests. The following attributes absolutely set our intake apart, and will set your car apart from the rest.

-The Roto-fab CAI Does not have a major effect on AFR or Fuel trims. Our system produces great MAF data @WOT. (PRAY, Tsloper, EFI Tuning approved!)

-Our air box seals effectively to both the hood and fresh incoming air duct. It is very important that the air box seals to, and utilizes the entire OEM fresh air inlet.

-The Roto-fab system uses a huge filter with a 6" diameter outlet!!

-We also give the you the option of retaining or removing the sound enhancing tube, and effectively sealing off the remaining hole in the firewall if enhancing system is removed

-Has gained up to 14 hp on an otherwise bone stock Camaro SS (NO TUNE!!) And 39 HP on multiple supercharged Camaro's after a recalibration. However, we generally advertise the original 12 HP gain that we first saw on the dyno. Yes, there was one unappealing test where we gained 6hp, but I feel that the sheets below definitely prove otherwise.

From JDP Motorsports, Bone Stock vs. Roto-fab, Stock tune

From CNC Motors, Bone stock vs. Roto-fab, Stock tune

From SCT Performance, Bone stock vs. Roto-fab, Stock tune, AFR included below.

From Abdulisraddd, supporting mods: secondary cat delete. stock tune.

From EFI Tuning, PTB+Intake+Tune vs. PTB + Intake + Tune + Roto-fab, AFR included below.

From JRE, stock intake vs. Roto-fab CAI. Supporting mods unknown.

From ADM Performance, LT4 S/C vs. LT4 S/C with Roto-fab

From Davenport Motorsports, Heartbeat S/C vs. Heartbeat S/C with Roto-fab

Thanks for your interest, and thanks also to our great Camaro6 customers. We appreciate your business and continued support!

if roto fab does all this with out a tune why than does the one chevy sells need a tune which they say will not make more HP. is it just a noise maker.

There are alot of cai on the market that dont require a tune and make decent gains. I think GM may have to explain to buyers exactly what they are tuning. Then bring that info here to explain.

Emissions, that as an OEM, they must conform to.

I don't think the one Chevy sells even uses the cold air intake opening provided by the factory

The reason why people see gains at first is because it takes a little while for your ecu to adjust the a/f ratio. So your car runs lean at first. Here's the cold truth. If you take in more air and don't have a tume to accommodate for the extra air, you're doing nothing for performance.

A cai serves its purpose, but on an otherwise stock car, it's completely useless.

It probably would be smart to do a ported throttle body with a CAI. Do a remote tune and you will notice the gains

Thanks for your input. I do agree with you in the respect that air-fuel ratio is definitely something to look into when considering a CAI.

This is something you won't see often! AFR graph is included at the bottom of both of these dyno sheets. As you can see, our CAI actually makes power and does not have a major impact on the AFR. Everyone will say "mine is the best" so we rely on unbiased, unpaid 3rd party testing to prove that our system actually performs well.

If our system did not make power on a bone stock Camaro, we would not advertise such gains.

Aside from accommodating a huge air filter and maximizing air box volume by sealing to the hood, we felt it was equally important to use the full OEM fresh air inlet, But our system takes that a step further and actually enlarges the opening of the fresh air inlet. You literally have to stretch the rubber inlet around our air box! Our system also seals effectively to the OEM air inlet, as well as the hood, which shows huge advantages if you measure your IAT.

Here is a picture of the air box out of the car, which more clearly shows how it seals out engine heat.

Did you notice any difference at all with the Katech TB?

But, is that even the case?? The GM Performance CAI is not CARB compliant
