has this damn car stuck in your head like 24/7??

for example driving down the road I like to pretend I'm driving the new one and how it would feel and stuff haha or whenever I pass a store or gas station
I think to myself like "man soon I'll be driving through here in my brand new camaro" idk maybe all this waiting is making me go crazy

I keep messaging my sales guys at two different Chevy dealerships to see if they can get more information on when they are going to get one for me to see in person and drive. I don't know whether to get a manual or not.

I am pretty obsessive about it. My husband keeps buying me Camaro 6 swag, too, and that is not helping the situation.

I do not believe even Chevy knows when shipping will start. They know the hoped for date, but that is not the same.

I know. It is driving me crazy. When I got my '10, they were already on the street since mid-09; however, I didn't care what it drove like, I was getting a six speed manual ABM. My husband ordered my car at the end of '09 and we got it in Jan. '10. It was a surprise for me. I was working on my doctorate and didn't have any time to peruse car lots to even check them out prior to getting it. Lots of distractions to keep my mind off the car.

This time, I have a lot more time on my hands and more buying capability than I had five years ago. I am ready to get one decked out to be my next DD. This girl is getting anxious!

ABM? edit: Derp, thats aqua blue metallic. Have you ordered a new one yet? What color are you looking at this time? Still gonna go with a manual?

For me, I think of the 6th gen every time I look at my old Camaro and think how old it is. And when I get in it, I can't help but think about how old everything feels, and that just makes me pine for the 6th gen even more.

Of course, when I put the pedal down in the old '14, I certainly appreciate that power, but then that reminds me of whats coming, and again, I pine more for 6th gen.

I was getting along just fine until yesterday. I was driving and saw a blue 2016 Volt go by the other way. I though "damn that thing looks good." Then I saw a second one behind it and thought somethings gotta be going on. Sure enough after the second Volt came a Blue LT! My god that blue is gorgeous in the sun!

I haven't ordered one yet. I am undecided about the manual vs. automatic. I have the A8 in my vette. I didn't like it at first because manuals are just more fun to drive; however, I am warming up to it.

I will get a hyper blue.

I love my 5th gen. It only has 4,000 miles on it and you can eat off the bottom of it. We have a lift and wax/clean the entire chassis every year, sometimes a couple times a year. It is a special car for me and has great sentimental value.

My husband wants me to hold off for a blowered car. I am thinking I will most likely get the 6th gen and then if a blowered option comes up in a blue that I like, then I will trade. I have had a blue Camaro of every generation except the first one. It's kind of my thing.

The biggest difference is all of the new technology. It is amazing what they have done in the vettes from the sixth to the seventh and now that technology is in the Camaro. It's going to be pretty awesome.

I would say if you are not sentimentally attached and want to trade up, then I would go for it. If you want something paid off, then stay with what you have. Either way, they are both great cars. If I had to choose between my fifth and the new one, I would keep the fifth. Since I can have both, I will get my cake and eat it, too.

I have yet to order one either, however, I am still running into the same problem. I visit the forums every chance I get as if it will somehow fill the void of not having a 6th gen in the garage.

You're not alone brother!!

I have to wait 6 months before I even place my order. Currently, I have more than half of my down payment. My first Camaro, my first V8, and my first brand new car. Always had used cars or rentals to get around in. The idea of getting this car is driving me up the wall.

Yes, it's definitely rough.

Check the forum continuously for new posts and info. Do google searches to try find any new tidbits. It's only going to get worse as the first cars start getting delivered.

This is the first car I have ever pre-ordered. I missed out on my dealers initial allocation so I have no clue how long I'll end up waiting.

Edit: in a couple more weeks we'll get tons of info and stuff to pour over. Believe the date is oct. 16th when the publications can put out articles and test results.
