What Trim Level Did You Choose?

I chose the 2LT RS V6 with several options. Probably will add up to around 38.5 k. I really, really wanted a V8. Which just spurs the on-going argument V6 or V8? The way the pricing lines up I could have went 1SS. I
know that the RS package is included with the 1SS, But I don't get some of the other options like the tech. stuff and
Lighting & Conv. Package that I'm getting with the V6. It's just at 38.5 k, My bank account is stretched as far as it can go with this purchase and cannot be stretched anymore!

Heck, all the Camaro gurus got to test drive the new V6 back in May at the Belle Isle home of the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix race track. They all
commented on how fast and much improved the V6 engine is over the 5th gen.
I know I'm getting an awesome looking FAST car and will feel proud to drive it. That's all that matters anyway.

You know what, don't let anyone slap you for not going "SS".
Just enjoy the hell outta that LT.
I for one am a little bit jealous, cause I won't be sportin' a 6 any time soon.
Great choice bro.

Everyone's different and getting what YOU want is always what is most important. It's your money after all.

That being said, if you are on the fence, I would say that what you get with the 1SS is a really good value and still nice especially for the motor you get if you really want a v8. You aren't going to get heated and cooled leather, special interior lighting, premium audio, etc. But for me personally, the v8 would make up for that.

I chose the 2SS when I ordered but am now re-considering waiting a few months just to save a bit more for all the options I want that aren't in my budget right now (mag ride, etc.). 38.5K is a big chunk of change to drop on a car so make sure the v6 is something you can be truly happy with for however many years you plan on owning the car. Otherwise, save a few grand and get what you really want. Just my .02

Honestly, I went V6 with my '13 and have been hungering for a V8 for a while, and finally chose not to compromise this time around, so I went with the 2SS. This will be a car that I keep for life, and I am beyond ecstatic to get it in just over a month. But either way, you will love the LT, and as you said, the creature comforts with it are many.

Plus look at it this way: your V6 will be faster than a Challenger R/T

If you haven't seen my posts I have been commenting about this regularly.

This V6 is faster than the gen 4 z28's with the LT1 and close to the the stock gen 4 LS1's. Some serious performance from a well balanced modern V6 sports car.

Just over 5 seconds 0-60. Performance numbers that should be enough for most people. And definitely enough power to get in trouble on the streets.

The SS has the performance of $150,000 exotics from 10-15 years ago. The SS will be a lot of car to handle for the average driver.

I admit to being an average driver. I spun out my old gen 4 Z28's on multiple occasions. Keeping ones foot in the throttle when the back end unexpectedly breaks loose is definitely a learned response.

That said I know this V6 is going to be perfect for my driving skills and abilities; and will make enough power to make my wife yell at me when we cruise the wonderful winding Oregon highways.

yup same here! my 2014 v6 is still fast and all, faster than all these little mustangs that always wanna race lmao But now I'm financially ready for a v8 so why not go for the 2ss, which has bunch of cool stuff that I missed out on the base v6. . so that's what I did

A loaded 2lt with leather interior and all the tech including hud and all the LED/hid lighting. What other V6 car is offering everything the camaro is at this price point?

The 3.6 ATS / CTS is $45,000+ optioned out similarly. BMW 235i is $46,000. Mustang.....? 370z? Find something comparable!

I looked at a beautiful maxima the other day when we bought my wife a Subaru crosstek. Less hp and $42,000. Bigger, much heavier, and FWD. Nice looking car though.

Edit:
The focus RS is $36,000! VW R? STI?

Anyone who bags on another guy because he "didn't get the V8" is a d-bag and has self-esteem issues, so making someone else look inferior makes him feel better about himself. He should be congratulating them and enjoying the camaraderie of owning a cool ass car.

TL;DR: Buy what you like, **** 'that guy'.

Agreed.

Same thing goes for anyone who bags on another guy because he got the competition.

I'm trying to decide between a 1SS and 2SS. I was completely set on buying a V6, until I spent a few weeks driving a V8 (Challenger) at the end of last year. I don't need the performance, but the sound is simply beautiful to me.

I can afford either, but after making a list of all the features unique to each trim, I realized the only things I cared about are the leather seats and the auto dimming mirror with the garage door opener built in.

The price difference between the two trims is about $5k, but I can have those two features installed for less than $2k I would imagine. At the same time, the 2SS will probably hold its value a bit better because of having all the tech and safety features people want, so I may be able to get most of that $5k back in resale if I go 2SS, where I will slmost certainly get none of the $2k I spend for the features I want back if I get a 1SS.
