Injen evo3700, box on or off?

Hey guys so I installed the intake lastnight on my 2017. Can definitely feel the increased power BUT you can't hear any of the turbo spool unless you eliminate all noise and with the window down but it's still very very quiet. So what I'm asking is, does anyone with this intake leave the air box off? Let me know. Thanks!

If you take the box off I would think the heat soak would be pretty bad and you'd lose power.

Your two options are fairly simple take the box off and get/make a metal heat shield like the open box version or cut a hole in the top.

Yeah the hose was a hassle. Basically what we did was wrap a piece of thin metal around the plastic and pushed it up to unlock the clips. It took about 30 min just to get that off. So get your created metal magic scrap ready before you try to install
