Hello,

The Hawk DTC-70s cost just went through the roof. Has anyone tracked both pads on a ZL1 1LE?

I'd like to know which you prefer. I've always tracked the Hawks 70/60s but am considering switching to the R12/R10s.

I’ve been running R12/10 for my last few track weekends. It’s a great combo. I just got a set of R16f for this next weekend at COTA. I’m running some much stickier tires so I’m going to try something different.

So did you ever run the Hawk? I'm sure they are a great combo, I'm just looking for a comparison.

I'm pretty sure he is as there really are not many choices for the copper free brakes.

They’re giant, but I don’t really know what the ZL1 pads look like. I’m in a ‘24 SS 1LE.

Yeah this guy is right, just gotta use ZL1 pad shape. Pretty much everyone is using those with J6H BCD calipers.

That’s what I figured. I thought the BCD being the same as the CT5-V Blackwing would open up more options. That doesn’t seem to be the case.

For sure. Now that BCD Camaro and Caddy track guys have gone to the J6H ZL1 pad choices with success, not too many pad manufacturers will invest in the only slightly deeper annulus BCD pad.

Are there any aftermarket that exactly match the BCD pads?

I didn’t realize the Caddy guys were using the ZL1 pads. That pretty well kills out chances of companies expanding their lines.

I bought a set of Porterfield R4-S that had the correct BCD backing plate. Never tried them yet. A buddy tried a set of Padgids that were BCD shape. I think they are still for sale here, circa 2022.
