Interest rates for April on a 2017, need your help
Curious to what you guys were able to get for interest rates for 48 or 60 month. I know most lenders have the same rate for 48 and 60 months. Went to get my car yesterday and even though my credit # is 830, the dealer said the lowest was 2.5% for 60 months. I tried a google search and not seeing any less, yet i know i have seen post people getting 1.x %. Please post your percent and from where if you are 48 or 60 months. I will see about refinancing the loan plus this may help someone else.
thanks

Refinanced this week (bought the bought the car about 3 weeks ago) - went from 3.89% with GM Financial (so I could take advantage of all incentives) to 1.6% at my a local Credit Union. (60 months both times)

I'll be going through my work credit union, Chevron Federal Credit Union. They've got 2.09% for 36-60 months. If I do auto payments from my paycheck I save another 0.50%.

Didn't you have to pay all the interest off of the GM loan, making your CU loan principle larger than your GM loan Principle was?

![]() This is how it was explained to me and it is reflected the paperwork. This is my first time doing this and I'm definitely no financial expert or anything anyway so this is a serious (aka not wise-ass) question so feel free to educate me (hopefully in the same manner, lol). But, if it was the other way, that you mentioned, why would any one ever bother doing it? As in, wouldn't that defeat the purpose of refinancing - that being to get a better interest rate/term/etc in order to end up owing less money in total?
