Limited Slip
Is there a way to tell if our cars have a limited slip without doing a 1 wheel peel test? I dont even know if that was an option for us.

Does the auto have a different rear diff? If so is there an after market one that anyone suggests?

Autos have an Open Differential you cam convert it to a limited slip differential by ising the parts from i believe the V6 LGX if I'm not mistaken. I know Jason@JacFab did the swap.

You can use the differential and axles from a 2.0 with a manual transmission, or LGX car with a manual transmission easily, and fairly cheap. Can't swap the differential without changing the axles also.
At least as far as I'm aware, no one makes an limited slip unit that will go into the stock 2.0/3.6 auto differential, and no one makes aftermarket gears for them. |

The diff ratio is the same with either transmission (3.27), so that's a non-issue.

Do the swap. The open diff in the auto unit is a completely different carrier. It is very weak looking. The housing for the LSD diff is the same from all the cars to the SS. Much stronger unit.

Sounds like we got the shaft with the auto. I decided to get the auto because in the press I hear that autos are actually faster than the manuals these days. Do the v6 with autos have a LS or they open as well? |

v6 auto also has open diff. It's been that way since 2010. Gm trying to cut costs I guess?
