Kia stinger

So kia is gonna produce a rear wheel drive "performance" family sedan (stinger) with possible 2 engines. Turbo 4 making 255 HP and a twin turbo 6 making 355 HP. People are apparently drooling over this car for some reason. Engine HP isn't that impressive, for a twin turbo 6 and sadly seeing the Chevy SS flopping. I don't think this car will do so great sales wise. What do you guys think?

Not bad looking, but isn't this going to be like $40K? For a Kia? No thanks...

I haven't seen or heard anything about pricing yet. But there is no way that its going to start at 40k. Not with a 255 hp engine. Maybe 30k but not 40. Will the price exceed 40 grand with the turbo 6 and some options? Probably. You can do the same thing with the Ford Fusion Sport too.

Pretty sure its going to be the most powerful midsize sedan from an entry level brand. I can't think of anything else in its class that tops it. The Taurus, Charger, and SS are all bigger. ATS-V and M3 are luxury cars. The Fusion Sport (likely its most direct competitor) has a 325 hp turbo6, and I'm fairly certain that is currently the most powerful midsizer. So topping that by another 30 hp isn't nothing. Just how potent do you need its engine to be to be impressed?

I think it's a great looking car. Especially in blue.

I think its a great looking ride. I won't say its going to sell like hotcakes, but it will surely sell better than the fully loaded ONLY Chevrolet SS.

The SS, while a great car and I'm interested in them, also looks just a tad bland right from the beginning. Its not good (my opinion) when your high performance sports sedan looks similar to your value midsize car (former Malibu) which I feel hurt it.

Here's the thread I started: http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=483639

I agree with you about the SS looks didn't helps sales, even though it had a monster under the hood. I really surprise twin turbo v6s aren't hitting 400+ HP these days. Those crazy brilliant folks at Mercedes have 365 HP turbo 4 on the AMG cla/gla. I believe the starting price is $27k when release in S. Korea.

The LGW, LF3, and LF4 are all past 400 HP.

I read online starting price would be mid 30's...so a loaded one will easily crest 40. No thanks...may be a nice car to pick up as a certified used car, and let the first owner take the hit.

What is with the new style of screen for the radio and nav. I can't stand the way it looks like someone placed their iPad on the dash.

I think that's the point...somewhere some time some consumer focus group found that people love their tablets and things that look like tablets, so now all the manufacturers are making their infotainment screens look like tablets stuck on the dash.

Chevy SS is not and has not flopped. There was a limit of how many GM wanted to sell and they've done it.

a SS can be had cheaper than one of these Stingers with the 20% off sales that Chevy does every 3-4 months
