Gotcha. Thank you! It didn’t look like there was to them, but whenever it’s for my car, I’m coming here to make sure. 👍🏻

Easier said than done when you’ve owned nothing but manual transmissions for 25 years

I was ready to tear my gearshift off and throw it out the window just on the drive home from the dealer. The lockout is like fingernails on a chalkboard and doing the song and dance and loopty loop and do-see-do to get around it “naturally” is just like putting earmuffs on so you hear the fingernails not as harshly.

I put skip shift eliminator on my '18 SS a few days ago. I had already done on a 5th gen SS and 2 C6 'vettes. This 6th gen Camaro was by far the hardest to get my hand up in there to remove the wire harness clip. Works like a charm though and now it shifts where I want when I want.

Sure you could do this, but why drive the way GM wants you to drive, and not the normal way i want to drive. When putzing around town it's awkward to act like your racing in order to use 2nd gear. I hate it!! Been driving clutch for 50 years. It's a terrible feature and doesn't belong on the car. Who buys an SS camaro to save fuel??

IIRC, CAGS on the manuals and AFM on the autos is what prevents a gas guzzler tax on the SS. No such luck on ZL1. Best part of GG tax is that you also get to pay sales tax on it. A tax on a tax! What a country!

I agree. I never got a skip shift eliminator. And I do the same things. At first it bugged me, but now rarely comes up. And I've been driving stick for almost 40 years.

Lot of times on purpose I go from 1st to 3rd and 5th anyway when I get lazy.

Also, if you just pause for a split second in neutral when the lockout comes up, then it will go into 2nd gear without a hitch.

After almost 2 years of driving without the eliminator, I was pretty good at avoiding the lockout but every so often it would trigger and annoy me. Installing the skip shift eliminator is such a quality-of-life improvement that I'm actually sad I didn't get it sooner.

If I could go back in time I would've just installed this eliminator during the first oil change. while waiting for the oil to drain.

We have to be happy at least Tremec made it easily defeated. It’s almost as if they thought this through ahead of time lol
