Question Temp A10 oil check

Hello,

When doing an A10 gear oil change, which temp has to be reached to check the fluid level? ZLE pan (changed).

Some threads say 212F, others 150F…

As stated by GM, there is no difference between track or street fluid level, that’s clear, but temp checking is not, so please give your experience (here in Spain we do not have GM specialists, so nobody knows how to do it correctly).

Thank you.

Pay attention to the 10L/90 temperatures and fluids required.

After reading this post, I am much more confused...

https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=614953

- Video says to wait until 150 ºF.

- 2017 service manual says 203-212 ºF.

- 2022 service manual says 167-176 ºF.

WTF?????

The attached is from AllData and what I use

Temp range 75-80C (167-176F) for checking level.
NOTE there is a confusing section that says to check above 70C (158F), this refers to the Internal bypass valve opening temperature. Of course if you're checking the level at 167-176F the bypass temp is exceeded........ it only adds to confusion

Hope this helps

Cool OMG!!! So Much WRONG INFO!

You DO NOT have to brake torque your A10 to check the fluid!! Just get it on jacks, make sure the car is level by measuring your rockers to the floor and follow the simple steps in my video!

I have been driving my ZLE for over a year, NOT USING THE GM Dex garbage but instead the Amsoil ULV Signature fluid shown in the video. I have tracked the temps and the recovery rates of the fluid and found dramatic temp drops by using the Amsoil fluid. This is the SAME fluid I use in my 2021 RAM 3500 MegaCab HighOutput Limited that I consistently haul boats weighing in excess of 16K# across the USA each week. I have logged nearly 200K on my original AISIN Transmission with zero issues and noted a rise in temp of only 10 degrees while making the grade on I-8 hauling heavy weights with an OAT of 108 degrees.

Watch this video and leave a comment or see the comments if you have a question.
