It's all about the person doing it. They can also custom cut to avoid any defects on a template.

Those edges are not normal at all. It won't cover 100% of the edge. You do indeed cut for fitment BUT you cut the edge part into 3 separate parts (or rather cut the piece directly above the edge) thus the edge part will roll under it. The way they cut in that picture, that edge is not protected.... Which defeats the entire point of a clear bra, at least for that section... Bad install.
