Why you may ask would someone want to switch gears while maintaining the same speed......well today I drove my 2015 Jeep Wrangler with 290 HP up interstate 70 through the Colorado Rockies. I set my cruise control at 65MPH but since the highway climbs huge grades of 6-8% that last 3-5 miles in certain stretches my jeep just doesn't have the power to maintain 65MPH without switching from 6th gear down to 5th, 4th and even 3rd. This constantly cuts the CC and makes it even harder to maintain your speed. When I drive my SS up I-70 I can set the CC at 65 and occasionally shift down from 6th to 5th to maintain speed and not disengage the CC. This is a very simple and useful feature for those of use that use "cruise" in mountainous areas. Has anyone else noticed this and do you appreciate it? Does anyone else know of other manual transmission vehicle that do this? I do not....

I never used CC in my 17 SS, but used it in my 11 Camaro all the time, never had the issue of Clutch taking it out of CC in that either.
