This isn't discrediting to the ZL1, these are two different leagues of vehicles. With the power to weight ratio of the GT, it should be able to run low 10 1/4 miles at north of 140mph....and will easily out corner the ZL1.

The point here is they weren't racing...this was a public track event.
ZL1 was keeping a respectful distance the entire time. If the GT decided after a given turn that he was going to floor it for the first time, if the ZL1 wasn't expecting that of course it's going to pull a massive distance...
Again, this was a non-sanctioned track event, not a race. If the GT driver started fish-tailing because of his inability would you say the ZL1 has better handling too? This is all apples to oranges until there is an intentional head to head exhibition.
