V8's will probably be gone from all but the most volume limited car models within 7-8 years at current MY2025 GHG regulations. You will most likely still find some available in trucks but that will depend on the footprint size. You'll probably see more 6's with turbos for the higher volume models. Unlike the 1980's, the regulations vs. tech available for ICE (internal combustion engines) is not in favor of ICE. We are reaching cost vs. feasibility as well as chasing hundredths for Co2 reductions as all the low hanging fruit has been done.
Personally, I won't buy an electric car or hybrid until the used market for ICE dries up and I bought a muscle car witha V8 because they won't be around unless a dramatic shift in geopolitical attitudes and regulations occurs with climate change and Co2 impact. Very unlikely globally.
