Here's some pics of mine, I actually just put SVRT on yesterday. I don't have before/after from the same day, but here's an older shot vs the newer and you can spot the diff. In person it's a night and day difference and the wrap definitely looks darker and has a deeper shine, and as you pointed out it gets you closer in color to the black painted parts.
One thing I did notice is that the wrap in general has a bit of a textured/spotted look to it and that is amplified some by the SVRT.
