Interestingly enough, there are folks who will pay almost anything just to say they have something rare, or exclusive, or simply something new. I used to work for a dodge stealership and they sold this guy a 2015 hellcat challenger in October for $76k. So it was a model year old, well past the wow factor and they were still able to pinch him for every penny. ZL1s never seemed to be that hard to come by though. I was the first one to buy from my dealership and I got it at MSRP only to find that 6 months later they had 2 13's with the exact same options and in the exact same color going for about $5k less. The 5th gen luster faded quickly and lots of those cars ended up back on lots within a few months. While we know the new ZL1 is far ahead of its predecessor in terms of performance and technology, the ZL1 still doesn't carry enough wait to make people see past the CAMARO nameplate. It's still just a camaro to most folks and as such it doesn't garner the appeal commensurate to its performance. This is a good thing for most of us as it will keep the prices right where we want them and if people do as they did with the last gen, there will be plenty slightly used or under msrp cars to go around.
