What is really needed to correctly install a single sub in a 2SS.
Obviously a sub and amp...
JL Audio 10", CS110TG-TW3
JL Audio JX500/1D
But is this needed?

or is it a waste? Do I need to get a MOST unit and throw the bose stuff away?
Again I just want to add a nice single sub in the trunk to reduce the load on the other speakers and get a little better sound. I have no problem spending $1000 if needed, but I'm not looking to spend too much more.
Thanks in advance, and Im surprised there is not more info on this subject out there as the speakers do kinda suck in all factory cars....

I used to be a huge AudioControl fan years ago. I have had bad experiences with the processors bought lately, so I will not buy from them again.
However a JL Audio processor saved my latest installation, it was a CleanSweep DSP, now discontinued for another more advanced model.
Installing a Sub only without upgrading the rest of the system, may not turn out that well, there needs to be balance between frequencies, and the Camaro lacks mid tones in the front, so more bass will make mid tones appear even lower.
Edit: I now believe that the main problem with the Bose system is that the subwoofers get distorted badly when playing low notes at higher volume levels, the rest of the system is pretty good. May be a sub and bass blockers for the stock subwoofers will do just fine, I will try it and report findings, I will need to build the bass blockers for the 2 ohm speakers at 150 or 200 Hz.
