Yeah, there was a vehicle already stopped at the intersection blocking your direct line of vision, but it was your responsibility to ensure that it was safe enough to make the turn. The only time this wouldn't matter that much is if you had a green arrow for the left hand turn. Sorry if that sounded harsh, but that's what a good attorney would try to say if you had to go to court over this.

This is what I was thinking, too.
She had a yellow light going to red; did the OP also have a yellow light going to red?
If the OP didn't have a green arrow, then he at least is partially at fault, if not totally.
Cars turning left have to yield to cars going straight if no green arrow.
And if you don't know if you have a clear shot to make your left turn, then you don't attempt the left turn.
