At least Ford had the excuse of not having a really track capable or worthy automatic...the A6 is rugged but in stock form it's not really particularly quick shifting or intuitive..
GM doesn't have that excuse, the A8 is exceptional.
If Team Corvette "allowed" the A8 on the C7 GS, even with the Z07 package, there is no good reason it shouldn't have been on the 1LE beyond stupidity.
