A lie is a knowing, deliberately false statement
They know how much a 5th gen weighs
They know how much a 6th gen weighs
So if they say the 6th gen weighs XXX less & it isn't, I can't see how it would be anything other than a lie.
I'd also like to see the full quotes (ie, context) where GM said, or implied, that pricing would be matching the Mustang. Because if it included wording like 'comparably equipped' or similar, then the reference point should not be a bare bones, no option GT.

Does he work for GM ??? I'm sure they would love to see that comment ....

No, he is a moderator on another car forum (GM Inside News) but they don't have any affiliation with GM. I'm not entirely sure what he does for a living down in Florida (moderating rarely pays much ... if anything), but I don't think it has anything to do with GM. He is merely an enthusiast just like everyone else (well ... maybe not
just like everyone else).
As for his points ... stating facts isn't the same as bad mouthing. Is the 6th gen more powerful than the 5th? Yes. Is it better equipped? Yes. Is the 5th gen overweight? Just about everyone agrees that it is. In fact, that has been one of the 2 biggest complaints about the car for the last 7 years (the other being its visibility), so its not exactly a ground breaking revelation.
Now, did he ever say that it was a bad car? No. Just that the 6th gen is better in several ways, hence the price increase.
