The question being raised and for anyone who might be interested, GM has particular rules regarding purchase for export and is diligent in adhering to them. Many may not realize that there are people, citizens of the US or not, who can not take a retail new delivery from a GM franchised dealer, apparently for either going around or attempting to go around said rules. It is my understanding that a dealership's franchise can be placed in jeopardy for violating these rules. I am not an attorney nor have I personally ever been involved in such a transaction so what is contained in this post is hearsay and should be read as such. On the other hand, a quick telephone call to your dealership of choice would be a good step to obtaining a more informed answer.

And I almost did not answer but it was late and as active as Becky is there is a good chance she will not see this thread unless specifically prompted, and it was a question with a fairly straightforward answer. I likely should have suggested the quester direct the question in a more appropriate manner but I did not.

thank you for your help.but the reason I asked this question is that I know that becky has transfered a car overseas(to hawaii) but I want to know if its possible to export the car to much further(and of course the shipping taken care of by the costumer)possibly and legally
