The Rs are probably the better tire, and I say "probably" because I don't have experience with them, but am completely positive everyone else who HAS commented on the is 100% correct. I can, however, tell you that the SSs are okay on the street. You can't go WOT from a dig on them, though, and if you spin them enough, they'll "ball-up" (I don't know if there's a term for this condition, but that's what I think I've seen a couple people use), and you won't get much better traction than stock tires until you "clean" them off. Then they'll get back to hooking about as good as before. I'll be trying Rs next time though, or maybe Nittos.
However (even though ask, I'll add comments, just in case) - I've read there should be a minimum of something like 0.100" clearance between any part of the suspension/brakes to the inner barrel of the rim. There is not this amount of clearance between the caliper and barrel. While the barrel hasn't contacted the caliper yet, it has rubbed on the caliper label, so it might as well be making contact in my book. JMO.

Is there anyway to prevent that rub? If i get a 17x10 and run the same tire would it eliminate this problem>?
