I had a 2020 GT500 CFTP for about 6 months and stock for stock its better in every way vs the ZL1 but since it was worth 20k more than I paid I sold it for 125k instead of driving it.
For 70k the ZL1 is really hard to beat, I feel great about driving it as it won't cost me 20 grand in pretend inflation value if I put some miles on it. With a couple mods it really wakes up and of course with a lot of mods it can make 1000 just like the GT500.
I don't miss the GT500 one single bit and I enjoy driving the ZL1 quite a lot. It has its own advantages vs the GT500 also, just not sound/performance type of things. More like intangibles. It really reminds me of a 4 seater version of my Z06's but also doesn't handle as squirrely either. It's an awesome street car.
