It would have been cool if the ZL1 1LE was the 6th GEN Z28 instead. Maybe even go a bit further with it to reduce weight. Strip the AC, rear seats, lighter wheels, carbon ceramic brake option, etc.

Only 116 out of 1801 Z/28s had no ac or radio...I'm 99% sure part of the reason they sold badly was because it was marketed as not having it, and to this day, so many people think it doesn't.
They didn't do the Z/28 moniker for the ZLE because they wanted to keep that slash for NA, but they scrapped the 6th gen Z/28 project...supposedly it was going to have the C8 Z06 motor in it.
