I picked up a set and did a test fit on the driver's side of the car today. For clarity I have a standard ZL1 and am installing the ZLE wheel/tire. I have a few comments and questions and would appreciate some feedback from those that have done this.

Front:

There is a fair amount of wheel poke, more than I was expecting. I know the ZL1 and ZLE share the same fenders and quarters. My car has the stock alignment currently, so some negative camber will change this look. I will probably install some ZL1 Addon lower fender guards though.

As has been well document on here, there is very little clearance between the standard MRC strut mount brace and the wheel. I am leaning toward taking the material off of the strut, since I will be installing camber plates to allow for enough negative camber for these soft tires.

Question: Will I need to dial in some negative camber at the knuckle, along with the what I get from the camber plate? It seems like I will need about -1 from the knuckle and the camber plate allows an extra 2.5 from what I have read. Thoughts and comments welcome.

Question: Who makes the best aftermarket camber plates? I see Vorshlag and Ground Control. I've seen some posts on here from folks using Vorshlag. Would appreciate any feedback from folks using aftermarket camber plates on a standard ZL1. Has anybody had any issues with these aftermarket camber plates? They look pretty sturdy.

Rear:

Same as the front, there is a fair amount of wheel poke. I expect it's no different than a ZLE but it is very different than the OEM ZL1 wheel. Same as the front, will add some lower quarter guards to knock down some of the debris from hitting the rear quarter.

There have been comments on here about the ZLE wheel/tire rubbing through the driver's rear wheel liner as a result of a bulge from a harness behind the skirt. I thoroughly inspected in the area and see the harness behind the wheel skirt and see how it somewhat causes the skirt to buldge out a bit. I would not expect this area of the car to be any different between the standard ZL1 and the ZLE. Can somebody on here confirm that? It just doesn't seem plausable to me that GM would make this part of the car different for cars that get the 1LE package. I see where the ZLE wheel/tire extends deeper into the rear wheel well area but I do not see any difference in clearance in this area. I checked with both the standard and ZLE wheel, and the clearance seems the same. I will need to keep an eye on this area during the first track day. I get that my standard ZL1 has rubber craddle bushings and the ZLE is solid. What am I missing here?

Comments welcome.

Your speedo will be off a bit as well. It will read faster then your currently moving.
