What is most likely going on is your closing the hood on a hot car with it sitting still on a dyno and the iats increased some.

Are you kidding the cone filter would be pulling air from everywhere vs. a small channel by the head light. The extra air would create more velocity and that gives you your lower air temperature. Choked down created stagnet hot air you sir are back asswards.
