I think he was just pointing out how some of these things can seem a bit silly. Like, everything is altered, the car is gutted, tens of thousands of dollars on mods, blower maxed out to the end of it's life...but it's the stock blower. And then someone else will claim, fastest ZL1 on stock pistons. And someone else will claim fastest ZL1 on stock crank. Fastest Zl1 with stock door handles, lol!! Just joking and exaggerating a bit. I'm not taking anything away from this accomplishment. But these days it kinda seems like everyone is trying to grab whatever might get them some attention.
I guess I must have missed something. The car is full weight at 3900 pounds so that hardly is gutted. Plus the car is used as a daily driver. I can guarantee you there is no need for AMP to get some attention as you suggest. They let their cars and their customers do the talking. There is a huge tendency on the internet to simply criticize or try to minimize someone elses achievements especially if you have no way of duplicating the results. It is NOT bragging if you can back it up especially is you consistently produce results that NO ONE else has achieved. PLUS it is simplistic to make a statement that YEAH it is the fastest but look how much money that costs YOU CAN NOT be the fastest and be worried about a budget. It has NEVER worked that way and never will. You have to PAY to PLAY.
