Lets talk - Underhood temps - ZL1 & Autocross
So, my Zl1 1LE is on it's way and one thing that has been on the back of my mind is underhood temps.
My background - Coming from a 2015 Z/28 that I autocrossed a decent amount. Underhood temps can climb in between runs especially with some events that don't have pit lanes to park. My temps were under control in that car and I did some things to help.
With my ZL1 on the way, I plan on doing more autocross as well as more road trips. I want to keep the underhood temps down without doing anything to void my warranty (tune).
One idea I am thinking is to have the factory manifolds cerakoted. Possibly the heat shields as well.
Anyone have experience with Cerakote to reduce underhood temps?
Other ideas are the larger coolant tank for the supercharger (but curious if that's just hauling around more hot coolant?)
Possible behind the bumper mounted cooler?
Call me crazy, but another thing I am thinking of doing is removing the windshield squirters and routing the hose with a different squirter to spray directly onto the front of the radiator.
Thoughts ?
