Agreed.
But I always wished the ZL1 coupe could be had without the Ediff. It is a waste of 40 pounds for my use of a car. If I hit the track again I will still be in the beginner class. So I won't be bouncing off the curbing @ over 100 MPH. But I wanted a lower ET. I did get to 11.1 @129. 40 pounds less and less gas might have let me touch the 10s. The ZL1 should be a 10 second car right out of the box.
To me and opinions may differ, the ediff is a waste on the street. And it adds $$ and unnecessay street complexity to the ZL1. I am not knocking it. It is another example of superlative GM engineering. And a good thing to have if you are at least a semi serious tracker.
But what really made me decide to sell the ZL1 was the falling off a cliff residual value and the A10. It maybe is the best auto ever, and fun at first, but in the end not as engaging as a manual.
And weight adds a heavier feel to the car. My LT1 feels more tossable on the street than my 16 loaded 2SS did. But it is not that much lighter so maybe that is my imagination talking and would not be confirmed with emperical data.
I have to stop disagreeing with myself.
